Grant grew up working on a small family dairy farm in deep woods Vermont and enjoyed hunting, hiking, fishing, violin and guitar. He was a 3 time state champion wrestler, and football team captain before attending Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH where he finished high school.

After a 2 year LDS mission to Hungary, Grant attended the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD where he enjoyed traveling the world with the men’s glee club and lettered in wrestling before being commissioned a naval officer in the surface warfare community.

While an officer in between sea duty assignments on ships, Grant made the all navy wrestling team winning gold at the US armed forces wrestling championships for Navy and also placed 5th at the 2004 Athens Olympic team trials, which led to a professional MMA career.

It was during his time as a young naval officer in between sea duty, wrestling and pro cage fights that Grant got his mortgage license after paying 4.5 points on a VA loan to buy his first house.

Grant’s last assignment in the navy was as Officer in Charge (OIC) of MSV C-Champion, a highly specialized 220 foot long special forces insertion and extraction vessel focused on counter terrorism ops in Micronesia picking up and dropping off Navy SEAL’s and Army Rangers in theater.

His most recent position in the mortgage industry before Mortgage300 was as market leader for Movement Mortgage in Colorado and Utah. Grant’s favorite hobbies today are traveling, hunting, MMA and musical theater. He also enjoys performing in regional musical productions and has played such iconic roles as “The Beast” in Beauty and the Beast three times, “Joseph” in Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and “Frederick” in Pirates of Penzance twice.
